2004 - The Year of More
Pastor Jeanne Miller
As we all know, Brother
Hagin went home to be with the Lord earlier this year. Before he
left us he gave a very stirring word of prophecy in February at Winter
Bible Seminar in Tulsa. He talked about the year 2003, then went
on to speak of 2004. He said, “But 2004, what about 2004? Oh,
oh, ha ha, Yeah! 2004 will be a year for more. More power, more glory,
more manifestation, more saved, more filled with the Spirit, more healed!
2004 will be a year for more.” Basically what he said was that 2004
would be the year for more in every arena of our lives: more power, more
miracles, more healings, more of the Spirit, more growth, just in general
a year of moving ahead and receiving more and being more. I expect
to see more people come to a saving knowledge of the Lord, more ministry
in the church and outside of the church with more signs following.
Knowing we can expect this, we should all be in a stretch mode. By
this I mean we should be pushing to hear from God and to obey Him knowing
He will bring forth the results when we lay hands on people, when we pray
for them, when we speak of His saving grace and when we boldly proclaim
Him to be a good God.
In Palms 90, verse
12, we read, “So teach us to number our days that we may gain (get) a heart
of wisdom”. How do we number our days in order to receive that heart
of wisdom? I went to a number of commentaries including one from
a rabbi to see what has been said about this verse. It varied but
not greatly. However the best that I read was from the rabbi.
Basically he said, help us to know our days so that we may make to come
to us a wise heart. My rendition taken from them all is, Help us
Lord to understand the times of our days so we will make the most of them
with the help of Your wisdom.
We need to understand
the times that we are living in and the length of that time so we can be
wise with our time. To me being wise with our time is spending it
being about our Father’s business, but in order to be about our Father’s
business we have to be able to recognize His voice and then obey.
How would we act if we knew the exact day of our departure from this earth?
What would be the most important thing for us to do? And would we
do it? I wonder if we would live different than we are living right
now. There should be no difference because we should be living every
day as if it were our last—making the most of every minute, wanting to
accomplish something for the Lord.
Now I know that almost
every Christian is beginning to see that the days before the return of
Jesus are growing short. These are the times that we live in and
we can’t go through a day without recognizing this. The plan of God
for this earth should be uppermost in our minds. We need to be about
our Father’s business. He’s given us orders, some general, others
specific. He needs His church to rise up and be that glorious church
that the scriptures talk about, that example to a lost and dying world
that will begin to draw men away from religions that make promises but
don’t deliver, to a God who wants to bless His people. We have a
God who is forever faithful, who never fails, and the world needs Him—but
they don’t realize it. We need to show them that He provides in every
circumstance, whether it’s healing, deliverance, or any need being met.
The wisest way to live
is in the Lord’s perfect will for us. Not to put off those directions
that He gives us until a more convenient time. Not to let others
talk us out of what we know we’ve heard from the Lord. To live each
day wanting to do only His will. To live each day putting the most
that we can of ourselves into the lives of others, whether it be family,
extended family, church, work or a stranger on the street. Where
has the Lord placed you in this life? Wherever it is, you are there
to minister to those around you. You are there to show them Jesus
in action. To do the works that He did on this earth. I am
not referring to the five fold ministry at all. I am referring to
the body of Christ. Too many times we wait for someone else to do
what we have the opportunity to accomplish. Too often we wait for
a “minister” to show up when God may want us to do it ourselves.
It takes faith to step out and act on what God shows us, but the more we
do step out the easier it becomes. The first time is the hardest.
How often have we heard that! But it is true.
In these days we must
be conscious of the times we’re living in—the time right before the return
of our Lord and what that means to us as Christians. I know I’m looking
forward to 2004, in part because I believe that Brother Hagin was speaking
from the heart of God when he prophesied last February. Now it’s
up to us to keep our spiritual antenna raised for God to speak into and
then walk with a heart of wisdom in order to see the “more” that Brother
Hagin saw in the spirit. My goal is to see the manifestation of the
word “more” in every area of my life in 2004!
