Our Prison Ministry volunteers present a class called “Life Management Skills” (developed by our church) to inmates at the Clarksburg Correctional Facility. Most volunteers teach class once per week or every other week. Currently, we have a class for women taught on Fridays, and a class for men on Thursday night every week. Life Management Skills has 16 Bible-based modules that deal with various issues, such as being a good employee, money and time management, dealing with emotions, rebuilding marriages, etc. We also hold a verspers service four Sunday evenings each year.
We need both male and female volunteers to teach. Volunteers need to fill out an application, attend a class at the jail, and have a background check in order to receive a volunteer badge. They must also attend a re-certification class with the prison once a year. They will also sit in on classes taught by MFF volunteers to complete their training for this ministry.
