In March, old man winter can either go out with a roar like a lion or go like a lamb. I presume that it will be going out like a lion this year. Winter seems to just want to hang around.
I ask myself: what is winter likened to, especially if it stays as cold as it has been? Winter this season has felt like something sharp has been cutting through me like a knife, particularly when the winds blow. All this brings to my thoughts our daily battles in life with the enemy. We can’t get comfortable in the ways of the world because we have enemies in the spirit realm that are seeking to destroy us like lions with prey as it says in Peter:
1 Peter 5:8-11 (NKJV)
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because[a] your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may[b] the God of all grace, who called us[c] to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
However, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah is our Lord and through His blood He has made us righteous in Him. For that reason we can be bold as a lion as it says in Proverbs:
Proverbs 28:1 (NKJV)
28 The wicked flee when no one pursues,
But the righteous are bold as a lion.
Our common enemy has been declawed and his teeth removed from his head by our Lion = Jesus. So go forth, march on in His power and authority over the enemies of our God and our lives.
